Give the client a few mockups in the early stages to help them eliminate and realise their vision. From the examples they can choose the size of A but the colour scheme of B, narrowing down their perfect choice.

I love coming up with different ideas for clients. Getting you closer to your visual idea, everyone needs something unique to them, and it is up to the designer and client to work together to bring the ideas to life.
